I've always loved telling stories. It's one of the reasons I earned

a master's degree in journalism. I've worked on-air as a news

anchor for the 6 pm and 11 pm evening news. I've also been

behind the camera, first as a scriptwriter and

executive producer for NASA-TV. From there I went on

to produce and write shows for the Discovery Networks, including TLC, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel and Discovery Health. My writing for kids appeared in a Cricket Media social studies magazine called AppleSeeds (sadly, it went out of print).

In elementary school, I wanted to read the stories I wished were on the school's library shelves. So I wrote short-ish creative stories, mostly about girls solving mysteries. I carried a spy notebook and was above average in telling the difference between whorl and arch patterns with my fingerprint kit. I didn't tell my friends that I wrote because I didn't like the books they loved. This was isolating and lonely. And for a while, I even stopped reading, unsure why I wasn't into the most "popular" books (secret: I'm often still not). I struggled to finish books I didn't like.

When I finally listened to that child's voice in me, realized how important it was to get out my stories (and to put down books I'm not enjoying!). As I've become more serious about learning the craft of fiction writing. I've had short stories, flash fiction and poems published. And one very happy day in June, 2022, I signed with an agent who has the same vision I do for my YA novel.

When I'm not writing or reading, I also enjoy telling stories through photography. Chocolate, hikes with our dogs, women's sports, travel and being with my family also make me really, really happy. And I still watch a lot of television!

That's a lot about me. Contact me and tell me about you.
